Captain’s log, Star-date…uh what’s today? It keeps changing on me. So I’m feeling a little Jean-Luc Picardish in my reflection moment as I wait for Launchup.org to start. Not because I encountered a new life form but because I’ve encountered a new life.
I’m to the stage of bootstrapping where I just have my straps. Upsides and downsides; progress made and lessons learned through costly, silly choices. This is where I begin to live off credit cards to cover personal expenses (did I mention we’re expecting an unexpected little one in a few months) and make tougher choice on which opportunities to capitalize on.
I’ve elected to seek for some sort of part-time job that covers the personal bills or a higher paying full-time job that allows me to move out of my generous in-laws basement and into our own place while spending the rest of the time working on this current project.
This is easier said than done because as many of you know finding a job can be a full-time job. I also have encountered the over-qualified but willing paradox that results in no interviews. Yup, definitely a new life that my family has yet to encounter. I guess that’s what happens when you boldly go where few have gone before. It’s enough to make me want to seek financing from Ferengi.

A Tender Mercies note-the next day we received an unexpected check that covers one more months of expense. Yes!
